COMBAT VETERANS MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION®  CHAPTER 12-6

Vets Helping Vets

We are an Association of Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby. As a registered 501c3 veterans' charity, our chapters mission is to support and protect those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Our focus is to provide assistance and help to individual veterans, other veteran organizations and registered charities. We sponsor and participate in many veteran-related motorcycle (and other) charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran causes. Our Mission Statement is Veterans Helping Veterans. Our membership is comprised of: Full Members (those with verified combat service), Supporter Members (those who have non-combat military service and have a strong dedication to helping veterans), and Auxiliary Member (Spouses of both Full and Supporter Members).

HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK

The Honor Flight Columbus INC. is one HUB of an national network of independent Hubs working together to honor our nation’s veterans with an all-expenses paid trip to the memorials in Washington, D.C., a trip many of our veterans may not otherwise be able to take.  Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the chance to share this momentous trip with other veterans, to remember friends and comrades lost, and share their stories and experiences with each other.

The Honor Flight Network is currently serving veterans who served from World War II to the Korean War and through to Vietnam. We also serve catastrophically ill and injured veterans from all service eras.

SOUTHEASTERN GUIDE DOGS

Some veterans lose vision on the battlefield. Some return home from the battlefield, eyes intact, with unseen scars…nightmares and flashbacks so severe that it feels safer and more sane to just never leave the house. Our dogs make a dramatic difference. Guide dogs lead the way for veterans with vision loss, opening doors to independence, confidence, and companionship.
